Happy Dipawali

Jainism has significant event associated with Diwali/Dipawali i.e. attainment of nirvana by Mahavira in 527 BC.

Sikhism has significant event associated with Diwali/Dipawali i.e. Guru Har Gobind Ji (1595-1644) had escaped imprisonment and had reached to the Golden Temple Amristar where he was welcomed happily by the people who lit candles and divas. Therefore Sikhism often refers to Diwali/Dipawali as the day of release of detainees.

Significant of Hinduism to Dipawali is denoted to Rama's return to Ayodhya with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana after a 14 years exile. Previous to their return Rama had killed Ravana in a war. It is believed that people of Ayodhya lit ghee lamps along the way to light their path in the darkness, therefore Diwali/Dipawali is the Row of Lights/Festival of Lights and holds significance like celebration of the victory of good over evil; the uplifting of spiritual darkness; the awareness of the inner light.

With prayer that you may experience victory over inner and outer evil...

Happy Diwali/Dipawali…GOD bless.

Diversified Humanity

In ancient days there lived a man named Job. He was godly and therefore hated by Satan but loved by GOD. It was hard for Satan to bear Job so he said to GOD "Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life. But stretch out Your hand now, and touch Job’s bone and his flesh, and he will surely curse You to Your face!''

Humans have carried out mascara killings like crusades, wars, riots etc to save their skin. Humans in isolation have crossed the climax to eat the meat of their dead colleagues proving Charles Darwin’s belief that those who survived knew the way to survive.

However the diversified humanity also exhibits other motivational factors then the self centered concerns.

Dying for Ideology:
Similar to LTTE the Islamic militants’ motivational factor is the ideology that if they die as suicidal bomber they will go straight to heaven.

Dying for Icon:
“More than 60 people across Andhra Pradesh have died of shock or committed suicide after the death of their chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.” (Sept. 2009). During the Second World War the Kamikaze pilots of the Japanese air force used to crash their explosive laden planes against American warships crying "I die for the Emperor."

Dying for Myth:
LTTE suicide bombers’ powerful motivation is their ideology with a judicious use of symbols rooted in Tamil myth such as the tiger, the symbol of one of the most favorite Tamil gods, Murugan. It was the emblem of the ancient Chola emperors, the concept of maram (wrath), the concept of the brave mother (vira tayar) and the vira pen (brave woman) who sacrifice their loved ones for the war. The LTTE cadre is expected to conform to the ideals of the past.

Dying for devotion:
Job though afflicted with loathsome sores from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head he did not sin with his lips. However his decision didn’t earn him death but restoration to abundant earthly life.

Wil's Words

Men advanced the world cognitively
and women sustained it delicately.

If a child smiles at you
then know innocence within you hasn’t expire.

Soul doesn’t gratify gaining but giving,
treasuring but sharing.

Nothing reassures a man then a genuine love.

World’s victory will be worthless
if it doesn’t vaporize the emptiness within.
