beauty of night...

Though it’s summer time but last night had cheerful air-conditioning with it's soft breezy air refreshing me by each and every passing moments. There was composed silence except a rare passing by vehicle scoring its notion. The night was gorgeous as the twinkling stars had dressed her spectacularly.

The black beauty of sky was compelling me to look intently at her with eyes wide open. I was thrilled to focus on different stars and planets and feel like all of them slowly roving in different directions. Before I slipped off into deep sleep I felt like seeing a quite long and bit wide curtain (like a duppata ) full of sparkling stars…

It wasn’t the first time but it was after a long time (gape of many years) I had chance to marvel at night. Yesterday at a village sleeping under the widespread roof of sky the beauty of nature left me speechless.

As I gazed on uncountable stars in the sky, as I gazed on the widespread curtain of the sky…

I started realizing the magnitude of universe.

I started realizing how small my presence is this large universe.

And I also realized that most of my life I live forgetting my smallness.

Thank You GOD for last night’s sky vision... it was truly joyful living.

Love at tragic juncture...

Different generations have implied and applied the word LOVE differently across the globe. Love one of the best gifts of God to mankind is the need of each and every human being.

Recently I was touched by a Hindi movie “Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se”. Though I could watch half of the movie but still it was mesmerizing.

Arun (played by Sachin) knows that his fiancee Lily (played by Ranjeeta) is drawing near to death with each passing moment. Love of fiance to his dying fiancee in form of his efforts to keep her happy, Lily’s desire to see and live the life before she crosses the death line, left me speechless.

Love portrayed at this tragic juncture of life in its innocence, helplessness and silence is tragically romantic.

The human desire verses the life’s hardcore reality and life between these two lines drives me to ponder over it.

Therefore I have to leave but you can explore (if you wish to).......

“Jadu ki Jhappi & pappi” a Political gimmick?

In the eye of a storm for his “Jadu ki Jhappi & pappi” (magical hug and kiss) remarks, Sanjay Dutt on 22nd April apologized for the statement, saying the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister was just like a sister to him.

During an April 16 rally in Pratapgarh, Sanjay Dutt had said that he "will give 'jaadu ki jhappi and pappi' (magical hug and kiss) to the people of Pratapgarh and given a chance he will do the same to the Chief Minister and BSP supremo Mayawati".

Somewhere down the line it looks like a political gimmick, to publicize their party and party personalities. But the sad part is that sometimes such political gimmicks results in to violence affecting the lives of people, society and economy of nation.

October 2008 we witnessed the region and language based gimmick created by Raj Thackeray which opened violence against North Indians in Mumbai. But if this is the love of Raj Thackeray for Mumbai then where was he was hiding on and after 9/11 when Mumbai was openly attacked by the terrorists? Did any of you hear Raj Thackeray’s single roaring protest against the 9/11 terrorist act?

I loved the dialogue of last year release “Sarkar raaj” which says “India me logo ko development nahi tamasha chahiye (In India people are interested in dramas and not in development)”. Ask your fellow Indian citizens about politicians’ gimmicks and they will tell you but ask them about India launching record breaking space launch of 10 satellites in a single mission and most of them will be clueless.

It seems our politicians likewise our film makers know our taste so treats us cheaply and we too enjoy swinging around it. But can such swinging lead to joyful living?

Clockwise Cracking Cricket…

The 21st century culture is clockwise cracking culture. Within short span much more fun is its notion.

Commercialization in its tornado speed had hit a long boundary, titled as Indian Premier League (IPL). Billions of Rupees, Corporate and glamor world gambling, colorful cricketers and their bank balances at rise like never before! Its 3 hours game where on every ball crowd cheers up for cracking boundary or a wicket. An ordinary middle class man's stress free mantra in form of thundering boundaries by Yuvi or magical turns by Warne and Murli.

Many cricket fans believe that the original form of cricket “Test Cricket” is the best as it provides the Bowler and the Batsman equal opportunity to prove their talent, sportsmanship and perseverance. Many diehard cricket fans fear that in long run 20-20 cricket format may destroy the original cricket.

I love cricket but my concern for development takes over on entertainment with following reasons…

20-20 is time effective so unlikely to earlier day’s now people can concentrate on their job.

As of now IPL is during the evening hours of vacation resulting in to a family entertainment.

Since it’s organized by India it increases the goodwill of India across the globe.

For Indians cricket have been a subjective issue and therefore in past cases of communal clashes and suicide used to disturb the equilibrium of Indian society and economy. But when Tendulkar and Jaysurya opens the inning to face either Vass or Ishant Sharma than subjectivity will have no option but to transform in to objectivity.

Therefore Jai Ho because Ab Razia roshan karegi chirag Sehwag ke liye…

Ragging a frightening threat?

On April 20, 2009 Ankita Vegada a first year nursing student committed suicide at the Sindhi Nursing Institute hostel, Ahmedabad. Differing to hostel authorities Ankita’s parent believe “ragging by senior students” as the cause for their daughter's demise.

On 8th March 2009 Aman Kachru, a first-year MBBS student at Himachal Pradesh, died due to ragging in form of beating and torturing. However a case of death inflicted by injuries was made into heart attack by the college authorities!

Across the land “ragging” is differently defined. It could be “fun” that includes “singing and dancing” in front of seniors or could be working on assignments for seniors or could be physically tiring, verbally abusive or even sexually assaulting acts. Some may say 'Ragging can be healthy within limits' but the question is who should define the limit and how?

Different positive views about ragging like it’s a harmless fun or it helps in breaking the ice between the seniors and fresher etc simply gets crushed when case like Aman gets reported.

After the Supreme Court order in 2001 all over India ragging might be slowly declining but still the urging headline of Hindustan Times “Aman Kachru should be the last ragging victim” needs repetition with one change...

“Ankita Vegada should be the last ragging victim”.
